HOW TO GET HEALTH ASSISTANCE

The contribution to the FNUASS (unique health insurances national fund) it is calculate by applying the 6,5% quota on taxed incomes. 

Registering as insured is done to National Office for Health Insurances (district  or Bucharest) depending on the insured domicile, thru registering to a family doctor and paying the contribution stipulated by the law. 

Persons insured benefit form standard services comprising medical services, health care services, drugs, sanitary materials and medical devices.

Persons insured benefit from minimal services in case of illness or accident from the first day of illness or from the accident date.

For the emergency cases the insured person could appealed any doctor from any medical institution without any sending notice and without any other document.

SOCIAL SECURITY SYSTEM

According to art. 4, aligned 1 from the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 150/2002 regarding the organisation and functioning of the health social insurance, are insured “All Romanian citizens with the residence in the country as well as foreign citizens and stateless persons who have the domicile or the residence in Romania.”

In this regard they have to pay the insurance according to the legal provision. The co-insured person of one of the spouse is conditioned by the lack of personal incomes.

In this regard, the foreign citizen, without personal incomes, supported by the Romanian spouse insured, benefit from the art. 6 provisions from the Emergency Governmental Ordinance no. 150/2002.

HEALTH ASSISTANCE FOR IMMIGRANTS

Aliens citizens with the domicile or the residence in Romania have the right to medical assistance adoring to the law, non-discriminatory,  proving they are insured.

According to the Emergency Governmental Ordinance no. 150/2002, any person who has the domicile/residence on Romanian territory and proves that he/she paid the medical ensured, has the right to a family doctor.
